This Valentine’s season, Old Mexico becomes the setting for I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, the record-breaking musical revue about everything people endure in pursuit of love. With book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, the show ran for more than 5,000 performances and became the longest-running revue in Off-Broadway history.
Through a rapid series of songs and scenes, the musical follows romance from nervous first dates and impossible expectations through marriage, parenthood, heartbreak, and growing old together. It is witty, affectionate, and painfully recognizable, making it an ideal Valentine’s date for couples who know love is rarely perfect and often hilarious.
Each $100 ticket admits two guests and includes the performance plus a prix fixe dinner for two at Old Mexico, featuring one shared appetizer, two entrées, and one shared dessert. The result is a complete evening of food, theatre, laughter, and time together.
Parent guide: Recommended for ages 16 and up. The show includes adult conversations about dating, sex, marriage, pregnancy, divorce, and relationships, along with suggestive humor. It does not rely on graphic content, but younger guests might miss much of the humor or find some subjects inappropriate. Mature teenagers familiar with these topics might enjoy the production with parental guidance.
